Aalgo seaweed powder is a safe and harmless treatment to use in a babies bath from the age of 4 weeks and up. Aalgo works gently by turning ones bath water into the same constituents as sea water, without the salt, and is incredibly soothing. First thing you will notice is the itch will go and your child will sleep, allowing the vicious cycle to be broken and time for healing to begin.
It is now medically accepted that seaweed helps eczema.
How Aalgo works on your babies skin:
Add 2 heaped teaspoons of Aalgo into a baby bath. When baby is big enough for a normal bath put 1 tablespoon of Aalgo into the bath.
After the bath pat the baby dry, this allows the invisible residue to be absorbed into their skin and hydrates the skin from within.
The itch will reduce very quickly and the child will then begin to sleep, breaking that vicious circle and allowing the skin and body time to heal.
Where the skin has been scratched will heal
Flakey and dry skin will exfoliate away and new clear, soft and supple skin will appear.
Aalgo bath once everyday until eczema has cleared completely, then twice a week for a couple of months. Once a week afterwards for maintenance and any time you feel the slightest dry skin, give baby an Aalgo bath that night. During teething an Aalgo bath every night will prevent flare up from the stress. Always have an Aalgo bath after swimming in an indoor swimming pool to counteract the effect of the chlorine.
Eczema is a general term that describes an inflammation of the skin. It is a common condition which can have causes and occur in many forms, it usually involves swollen, reddened and itchy skin making for very irritated skin.
It is neither life threatening or contagious.
Baby eczema is patches of red, scaly, itchy skin. Sometimes the patches ooze and crust over. It can occur when a baby is exposed to irritating substances, such as bubble baths or rough fabrics; it can also be a symptom of a food allergy.
To treat and prevent baby eczema whether severe or slight, help your baby avoid extreme temperatures and anything that seems to bother his or her skin. Try not to wear perfume or after shave when near baby. Do not use baby wipes only cotton wool. Keep the room cool and make sure the baths are on the cool side of luke warm, dry your baby's skin with gentle pats.
Cradle Cap :
We suggest using Aalgo soap to wash babies scalp. If after the first week this has not helped, mix a teaspoon of Aalgo to a watery cream - cool to almost cold - put on babies scalp while in the bath, leave on for about 50 seconds, and gently rub off with your hand and the bath water. Do this for 3 or 4 days and then go back to washing with Aalgo soap.
